Garbo's in Wheeler celebrated four fabulous years in business in January 2011, and relocated to Astoria,OR. We enjoyed our time and customers in Wheeler; alas, a plague has befallen poor Wheeler town and business is quite untenable to continue in the lovely hamlet on the bay. Does this happen in other small coastal towns? Aliens invade thinking they know how to do business far better than the little bumpkins that reside there. Lo and behold these residents and merchants have actually been participating in their own lives and communities, but are summarily dismissed by these oblivious, seething invaders.  No sooner have these foreign entities to the community swooped in because they were so taken with the pleasant, little town, then they commence to change everything about it!! Dear Wheeler, what you were before the infestation, will be sorely missed.

So, one door gets sawed off its hinges, and another one creaks open...we sally forth in Astoria. After three solid months of moving, Garbo's Vintage Wear-Astoria opened its newest location on Commercial street in March 2011.
Thanks to all who came out to celebrate our new store location in Astoria, Saturday, March 12th!!  We partied and shopped with cookies,champagne, and loads o' grand,new/retro inventory on the River!! Roll on, Columbia, Roll on!!

TrashBash 2010 was a roaring success-thanks to all the creative participants!Take a look...


Trash Bash 2011 is on the Horizon, May 20th!!! It's more fun than one should be allowed to have at the Dump!! In the past we have put on fashion shows, sponsored models at the community Trash Bash, had live music in the store, brought in Psychic Madame De Moll for Tarot Readings,  and introduced Customer Appreciation Chair Massage! The magical Celtic violin stylings of Lynn Thomas blessed us at the Astoria Grand Opening(March12, 2011).

In October and November, Garbo's Vintage was a proud sponsor of local band, Shy Jazz Concert and Sea Level Gallery Benefit. The benefit was a great success, and Good Live Jazz, Swing, and Big Band Tunes are always a great reason to dress retro!!

Each month at Garbo's, a local charitable organization is selected along with a corresponding color, and a portion of the monthly sales of all designated color items is donated to the charity of the month. (Example:  April is Earth Day Month; so, the designated color is Green, and the Oregon Chapter of the Nature Conservancy receives a donation from Garbo's based on the amount of green items sold during the month.)    

Garbo's Vintage Global Wear likes to host amusing sales and specials for customer enjoyment! The Easter Egg Hunt Discount Sale is always very popular; Cinderella's Special - "If the Shoe Fits Buy it!" Sale is a hit, and the Moo-Moo-rial Day Weekend Sale brings a smile to the surfin'  Wahinis and Kahunas in the crowd!
